Nobody cares if you're not a good dancer. Just get up and dance. The same holds true for racing. Whether first or last, we all cross that same finish line. Just get out there and run.

2014 - The Year Of Adventure

So, Operation Be More Awesome in 2013 was a massive success and a flop all at the same time, but that's ok because Operation Be More Awesome isn't restricted by dates and junk, it's an all the time sort of thing.

Since 2013 was an interesting year to say the least, I have decided to dub 2014 "The Year Of Adventure" (I think this year might need it's own logo). I have some pretty awesome adventures already in the works, and some are still in the early idea stages. The biggest adventure of 2014 is going to be the family's cross-country move to Sacramento, California. To make a long story short, Patrick's got a job out there with his company, he moved out there two days after Christmas. B and I will be making the cross-country trek at the end of June/beginning of July. Being the nerds that we are, we are already planning our very first trip to Disneyland for B's birthday in August, it was actually the first thing we started to talk about after we found out the move was going to happen. Also, I am hoping to get in for the Disneyland half and finally get my Coast To Coast medal. In February, I am hoping to run the Glass Slipper Challenge while raising money for Give Kids The World, as of right now the situation is not looking that great but I am confident I can make it work in the next few weeks. I'm also working on kick more behind at Crossfit, I really do love lifting big weights, it makes me feel like a total bad ass. As for B, she'll be playing lacrosse again and I will be trying very hard not to be the crazy sports parent. There'll be more adventure and I am sure I will bore entertain you all with our adventures.

Today's adventure- trying not to freeze to death while visiting my family in Toronto. The weather app was kind enough to tell me that it was -8 F and felt like -24 F (-22C, -31C). I have turned into an absolute cold weather wimp after spending nearly ten years living in Georgia. I wanted to run outside during this visit but it's not going to happen, I'm not that darn crazy.

Here's my shameless plug, if you have it within your budget to donate, I would appreciate it immensely. http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/lucymccullough/disneyprincessweekend2014

Big move! I am from Northern California, and was last living in Sacramento before moving to Southern California last year at this time. Good luck with your move, and if you have any questions about the area ask me! I don't know where you will be living in Sac, but one thing I really miss there is the bike trail where I trained for my first half-marathon. It runs alongside the river and was a really nice place to run.
