Nobody cares if you're not a good dancer. Just get up and dance. The same holds true for racing. Whether first or last, we all cross that same finish line. Just get out there and run.

Don't Eat Everything In Sight, Don't Eat Everything in Sight

My mantra this evening. I am so hungry tonight, I just want to eat absolutely everything. This girl's got some serious issues tonight, and I am sitting here dreaming of jelly beans. Have you guys ever had the starburst fave reds jelly beans?! Oh they are so tasty and very crack-tacular. See y'all...problems!

Have you ever just felt like you had to eat everything ever made? It's been a while since I've felt this crazy pants. On a good note, I don't have anything super crazy here to eat so rest assured that I am not stuffing my face with cupcakes and twizzlers.

Did I tell you all that I took RIPPED class on Tuesday? What an awesome class! It might be a new favorite, it has a little bit of everything and it really is for everyone. It kicked my behind but in the best way ever. I skipped my 30 Day Shred on Tuesday because between taking the class and teaching Zumba, I was spent and I just didn't have 20 more minutes in me. I did manage to get it done yesterday and again today, I decided during the workout that it is time to move up to the next workout because workout 1 is getting boring. It's still challenging, but just boring, I am so easily distracted. Oh yeah, I did manage to fit in a run on Wednesday and it was faster than I had been able to do in a LONG time.

Alright boys and girls, it's time for me to go to bed and dream of all the delicious things.

Ain't Nobody Got Time For That

After Saturday's run, my shins were yelling at me like I mentioned before. Can I just say one thing about that?! (Well, yes I can this is my blog after all) AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT! Have I mentioned that I love Sweet Brown?

I don't have time for down time! It's driving me crazy having to rest the shins and having to get creative with the workouts. I did the 30 Day Shred tonight but I had to just get creative with the cardio parts to avoid the jumping and strain on the legs. I just want them to stop being sore so I can get back to it.

Oh yeah, I weighed in today and I'm down 1.8 pounds! Woot woot! We're making progress, and I just have to keep reminding myself that I didn't get to be this size overnight and getting the weight off isn't going to be an overnight affair.

Saturday Night's Alright For Running

Went to the gym this evening and had the place to myself. I have the unique advantage of being able to use the gym at the place where I teach Zumba, which happens to be across the street from my apartment. It worked out nicely because my normal gym closed early and I wasn't going to have enough time to get it done. Anyways, the place was empty so I was singing along to my music and having a treadmill karaoke session. I didn't want to run tonight but I knew I had to get it done and I am so glad I did, I felt great when it was done. I had to get creative because I was ready to quit after the first mile, so I started singing, and telling myself to just get to the next quarter mile. I managed to finish 3.1 miles, sang a little and felt wonderful afterwards...well, mostly. By the time I got home, my shins were yelling at me. I guess that means that it's time to get some new shoes, I knew I'd need some soon but not quite this soon. Anyone know how to get in touch with the magical running shoe fairy? Maybe a running shoe sugar daddy?

If You Always Do...

"If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got". Darn it if another quote hasn't crept into my life and made me think, stupid internet quotey things! I'd heard the quote before but it popped up somewhere the other day and it made me think. It was time to shake up the workout routine. So, this morning, I started the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. Let me just tell you that she doesn't play the workout was challenging but it was doable. Can't wait to see changes in my body and changes in my weight. Oh yeah, weigh in was yesterday at Weight Watchers, I went to the meeting but I skipped the weigh in. I just didn't want to get on that scale and not be 100% happy, I just needed the motivation and support from the meeting yesterday. That being said, I will weigh in next Monday and share the awesomeness with you all.

I have a question for you Weight Watchers members that use the Activelink. Do you all have problems with the activelink falling off? It falls off my pants at least once a day, it drives me crazy. I need suggestions/help.

A Confession & Losing A Bra

Most random title EVER!

Alright, since I am back here on a semi regular basis and working up to a regular basis, it's time for me to 'fess up. Of the original 200lbs that I had lost, I gained back 70... which is some BS!! Like Sweet Brown says "ain't nobody got time for that" (by the way, I am slightly obsessed with her right now). It's embarrassing but the good thing is that I am working on it, and getting my act together. It's the whole reason for Operation Be More Awesome, I have goals and I need finish this weight loss journey. It sucks to see the numbers but sometimes it has to suck for things to get better, it's that whole hitting rock bottom thing. No place to go but up from here!

About the bra, I just bought some new sports bras and one was exactly like one of the bras I was replacing, same color too. Well, the one I was replacing needed to go in the trash it was just that bad, the one that ended up in a trash and hauled away by the magical trash guys that pick up our trash at the apartment was the brand spanking new one that had only been worn once. Yup, I threw away a brand new bra... That is a new level of dumb, that I wasn't sure I'd ever reach. Who throws out a new bra?! Apparently, this girl!

SPRING BREAK!!!

It's time to get wild, I'm officially on Spring Break because my history teacher cancelled today's class. I couldn't be happier for the break, my brain is hurting and I've been so stressed and busy that I haven't been able to breath. It's been an interesting couple of months, this going back to school business as an adult is not for sissies. I am ready to get wild... you know all the normal spring break things like cleaning my house, running errands, and getting to run without time constraints....yes, it's going to get crazy.

So I was scouring youtube for videos from when I was in college (the first time) and found this gem, in case you didn't know, No Doubt is my favorite band of all time. This would have been during Spring Break 2000.

If I were to get really crazy, this is more what it would look like now... but these people are a little too crazy even for me. LOL I'm just kidding, I want to be them when I get older.

Race Volunteering- Not For The Faint Of Heart

I thought it would be such a good idea to volunteer for the Georgia Publix Marathon/Half Marathon, and not just volunteer but sign up as the captain for one of the hydration stations on the marathon course. If you're running the full, we'll be at mile 15, hydration station #10, and don't forget to vote for our station, if we win we'll win $1000 for our charity of choice. I had to attend a training session for the team captains Thursday night, and I was a little overwhelmed with the amount of information. I had NO idea of the logistics of a race the size of this one, including those with regards to organizing volunteers. I kept wondering what exactly I had gotten myself into because it seems like this isn't for the faint of heart. The papers they gave me were COVERED in notes, I hope I don't mess it all up. After we got the run down, I started to get excited about the opportunity to help and more importantly to win the prize for the hydration station.

Next Sunday, 32 of us will be getting covered in red powerade and cleaning up cups on the marathon course. Shoot me an email if you want the address to come out and cheer and help our station be memorable. runchunky@gmail.com

Yup, That Just Happened

I had my weigh in yesterday and I was down 4.6 pounds.... yup, I was so friggin' proud of myself. I guess that journalling and tracking activity work....it's like magic. These are things I know to do, but I need the accountability of Weight Watchers. Plus, I just need a definitive plan to make things happen. Check out the quote-y thing I ran across the other day...

Just as an aside, is anyone else overwhelmed with the amount of quote-y pictures out there right now?At first it was very funny/motivational/etc., now I feel like I am being bombarded by them all the time. Plus, did you see what I did...I bombarded you with one too. What is this world coming to?!

I ran yesterday, but I had a hard time holding the pace the coach had on the plan and my ankle was KILLING ME. Stupid ankle is the same one that gives me trouble on and off, but I think it means that it's time to make a trip over to Big Peach for a new pair of shoes.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I am kick butt at school...well, mostly. I am killing my Math and Theatre Appreciation classes, I'm doing fairly well in Survey of World History to 1500, and my Astronomy classes but Astronomy and I are not always bff. If I keep it up, I might even land myself on the Dean's list which would be AWESOME! Also, it would keep in line with Operation Be More Awesome, because OBMA not only encompasses running and weight loss but being generally more awesome at life.
